Our Academic Board oversees all academic programmes currently offered by the College. In general, the Academic Board’s roles and responsibilities are as follows: (i) Developing and reviewing the policies and procedures on all academic matters of the College, including but not limited to academic quality assurance measures (ii) Facilitating the implementation of, and compliance with, such policies and procedures.

Gan Chin Huat
Chairman
Chin Huat is the Chairman of our Academic Board and member of our Examination Board.
He graduated with a Master of Education from Harvard University, USA under the Singapore MOE Post-Graduate Scholarship. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and an Honors Degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore and a Post-Graduate Diploma-in-Education from the Institute of Education. He attended the Executive Global Public Policy Program jointly organized by Peking University, PRC, Columbia University, USA, the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, and the Paris Institute of Political Studies (France). He also attended the Senior Management Program at the Singapore Civil Service College. Mr Gan had held senior positions in the Singapore MOE, including Principal of Dunman Secondary School, Cluster Superintendent and Deputy Director of Schools, overseeing more than 90 schools in Singapore. He represented MOE on the Singapore Jiangsu Cooperation Council. While in MOE, he oversees the Professional Development of School Leaders, Schools Division Strategic Planning, and has been involved in major Review Committees in Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment, Innovation and Enterprise, Niche Schools and Centers of Excellence.
Chin Huat had served as a Council Member of the Singapore National Police Cadet Corps and sat on the Boards of Governors of the Singapore Sports School and Temasek Polytechnic. He had also been involved in various grassroots organizations including Community Development Council, Citizens’ Consultative Committee, Community Club Management Committee, Town Council and Residents’ Committee. He had been an Adjunct Faculty with the National Community Leadership Institute and a Member of the Panel of Advisors, People’s Association Central Youth Council.

Chua Boon Yeow
Member
Boon Yeow is an industry veteran, with more than 20 years of history working in the sports and fitness industry, both in the public sector and the private sector. He was formerly the Heads of Department in various divisions/groups of the SSC (Sports Medicine & Fitness, Sports for Life, CEO Office, Communications and Knowledge Group, Sports Marketing Group) within the then Singapore Sports Council. Under his watch, he had also helped launch various long-standing initiatives, such as the Team Singapore initiative that is still running today. After working in the then Singapore Sports Council, Kelvin went on to be the Acting Director, Operation Company, of Mubalada-Capitaland Real Estate LLC – Capitala, where he provided consultation service to master-plan for the development of Zayed Sports City (US$6billion project). He subsequently ran the planned, developed and managed Zayed Sports City’s lifestyle, sports & leisure events and activities.

Chay Jung Jun, Mark
Member
Mark Chay graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah, United States of America, with a major in Communications. In his youth, he was a member of Team Singapore’s Swimming Team, and had participated in numerous international competitions such as the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, SEA games, World Swimming and Diving Championships, and the Olympic Games on two separate occasions.
In recognition of his sporting excellence, Mark Chay was named as Singapore’s Flag bearer and team captain on various occasions. In fact, he was also named Sportsboy and Sportsman of the Year in 2000 and 2001, respectively.

Lim Guan Kiang
Member
Guan Kiang graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a Masters of Commerce in Hospitality Management and is also an Adjunct Lecturer at Vatel Hotel & Tourism Business School, Singapore SDH Institute, which was voted the Worldwide Hospitality Awards’ Best Hospitality Management School.
Guan Kiang brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry spanning 4 continents. From being a Team Leader at the Sydney Olympics 2000, to managing front office operations for Marriott Hotels and Resorts in the United States; from organising world-class events in the United Arab Emirates, to helming properties in China under the Ascott Group; Guan Kiang has amassed a wealth of experience in virtually all aspects of the hospitality business including strategic planning, asset management, business development, strategic alliance negotiations, budgeting and revenue management, property opening and operations management.
In his most recent role as the Co-CEO of eStay, Guan Kiang led the growth of the China-based service residence management company, from a small struggling brand to more than 6,000 rooms in 50 properties and 1,000 employees in over 30 cities, and about $1.2 billion assets under management. Thereafter, he returned to Singapore to be closer to family, and to oversee the expansion of the listed company, Rowsley Limited’s hospitality business, setting up hotel and restaurant franchises in the Asia-Pacific region.

Melvin Lim
Member
Melvin lives and breathes sports! He started his first job at the Singapore Sports Council. He moved on to the Singapore Bowling Federation as the High Performance Manager, where he worked closely with the government, coaches, administrators, parents and athletes. He then moved on to education, where he was a lecturer at the School of Sports, Health and Leisure at Republic Polytechnic.
Melvin was an active sportsman in his youth. He played football in the national league, and represented his school for both football and rugby. Besides these two sports, he also plays golf, tennis, badminton, table tennis, wakeboarding and snowboarding.
He recently set up a sports marketing company, and is on a mission to raise awareness for the under-privileged in society. His vision is for all Singaporeans to embrace a sporting culture!

Muthiah S/O Rethinam
Member
Muthiah graduated with a Masters in Sports and Exercise Studies from Nanyang Technological University. Throughout his career, he has been heavily involved in athletics and coached the Singapore Junior Track & Field Team, the ITE Combine Track & Field Team, and was a member of the Singapore Athletic Association Coaching Team. He has various certifications in fitness and coaching, including the International Amateur Athletic Federation Advanced Coaching Certificate. His experience and knowledge in sports training and coaching has made him an invaluable member of the IMSC.

Raymond Chan

Raymond possesses more than 20 years of regional sales and business development experience with top MNC’s such as Goodrich Aerostructures and Senior PLC in the aviation industry. Besides excelling in sales and managing various multi-cultural sales teams, he is passionate about training. He has conducted numerous training seminars in International companies like Rolls-Royce, Guangzhou, Lufthansa Technik in China and Philippines, Korean airlines, Cathay Pacific and Singapore airlines.
Being world-traveled, frequently transiting from airports, hotels, meetings, and exhibitions he has an intimate knowledge of the service deliveries of the hospitality industries around the world. His lessons are punctuated with numerous anecdotal stories for a vibrant classroom discussion.
Crystal Alice Han
Secretary
Coming from a Sporting background since young, Crystal is passionate about the Sports & Fitness Industry. This has led to her pursuing both her education and career towards the Sports & Fitness industry. She first pursued her education, Diploma in Sports and Wellness Management at Nanyang Polytechnic where she represented the Track & Field team and won at multiple national competitions. She also played a key role in the NYP Sports Club during her school days and was active at planning school wide activities.
Moving on from her Diploma, she proceeded to pursue a Degree in Sports & Exercise Science from Edinburgh Napier University. While pursuing her degree, she worked in a Physiotherapy Clinic and offered rehabilitation specializing in programmes for athletes with injuries or post-surgery athletes. Current to date, she has gone on to further upgrade herself by obtaining a Specialist Diploma in Sports Marketing & Management from NYP. With her education and experience, Crystal now works on Academic and Programme Development at The ISA Group.
Our Examination Board is responsible for the development of examination and assessment procedures for our College. Such responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The security of examination scripts and answer scripts.
- The conduct of examinations and assessments.
- The duties and responsibilities of invigilators and markers.
- The moderation of examination and assessment marks and
- the handling of appeals from students with regard to examination or assessment matters.
